Sonoma International Film Festival Celebrates SVHS Filmmaker Grads with Scholarship Awards

SONOMA, Calif. On Wednesday, April 22nd, at Sonoma Valley High School’s Pfeiffer Gymnasium, nine of the school’s Media Arts Program graduating seniors were recognized with scholarship awards by the Sonoma International Film Festival. SIFF, as it’s known, along with several other community organizations, was in attendance honoring the class of 2026 for their contributions in their selected fields.
Ginny Krieger, Executive Director for SIFF, presented seniors Siena Kelly for “Outstanding Filmmaker”, and classmates Sami McGrane, Isabella Alvarez, Milan Delorefice, Yomalie Celis, Mari Purtel, Gloria Hinds, Jose Baron, and Adriana Bounds, receiving awards for “Outstanding Achievements in Broadcast Television and Film”.
Since the program’s inception in 2002 the Sonoma International Film Festival has donated approximately $750,000 to provide the proper tools and instruction to assist young filmmakers in honing their skills to tell their story on their way to higher education.
