Celebrating 30 Years: The Sonoma International Film Festival Announces 2027 Festival Dates and Opens Film Submissions

SONOMA, Calif. — The countdown is on! The Sonoma International Film Festival (SIFF) is thrilled to announce that its milestone 30th Anniversary Festival will take place March 16–21, 2027, with film submissions officially open for filmmakers from around the world.
Recognized as the nation’s premier wine country film festival, SIFF continues to bring together outstanding independent cinema, acclaimed filmmakers, world-class hospitality, and unforgettable culinary experiences against the backdrop of the historic beauty of Sonoma, California.
Building on the tremendous momentum of the 2026 festival, which showcased more than 100 films from around the globe, SIFF is preparing an even bigger celebration in 2027 by adding a sixth day for even more cinematic fun. Each year, the festival continues to grow as audiences flock to Sonoma for exceptional storytelling, filmmaker conversations, gala events, wine receptions, culinary experiences, live music, and the warm, intimate atmosphere that has made SIFF one of the most beloved festivals on the international circuit.
“This year’s record-breaking attendance and ticket sales underscore the extraordinary appetite for bold, international cinema and immersive cultural experiences here in Sonoma,” said Artistic Director Carl Spence of the 2026 Festival.
Over its distinguished history, SIFF has welcomed an impressive roster of filmmakers, actors, and cultural icons, including Francis Ford Coppola, Robin Williams, Jude Law, Bruce Willis, John Lasseter, and celebrity chef Joanne Weir, and many other celebrated artists who have helped shape the festival’s reputation as one of the industry’s most intimate and engaging destinations. SIFF was dubbed “One of America’s Top 10 Destination Film Festivals” by USA Today.
