Kill the Jockey
July, 15 2025 | 7:00 PM | The Sebastiani Theatre
Award-winning Argentinian filmmaker Luis Ortega's (El Ángel) latest film is a hypnotic, fun, and wholly unforgettable thriller set in the underworld of Buenos Aires horse racing. Remo (Nahuel Pérez Biscayart), a washed-up jockey, and Abril (Úrsula Corberó), his talented partner facing a life-changing decision, are caught in the grip of a dangerous mobster (Daniel Giménez Cacho). When a race goes tragically wrong, Remo vanishes, triggering a surreal manhunt and a dreamlike immersion into the unstable world of a fugitive whose life cycle has been altered, seemingly forever. This wild, sexy, soulful, and highly entertaining film must be seen to be believed and was Argentina’s official 2025 Oscar® submission to the Academy Awards.
