Rehearsals For a Revolution

Pegah Ahangarani’s powerful first feature uses home movies, street footage, newspapers, animation, and recorded voices to connect one family’s history to more than four decades of Iranian political struggle. Structured around five people who embody different forms of resistance, the film moves from 1979 to the present. A Cannes Special Screening and Golden Eye–recognized documentary, Rehearsals for a Revolution is personal history transformed into urgent political cinema. A Sony Pictures Classics release.
